Magazine names Hawaiian CEO "Business Leader of the Year" Mark Dunkerley took the reins at Hawaiian Airlines at an inauspicious time, just two months before the carrier filed for Chapter 11 in March 2003. Since emerging from bankruptcy protection in 2005, Dunkerley's airline has cut costs, forged new partnerships and ordered more than $4 billion in Airbus jets. Following the Gucci Necklace collapse of rival Aloha Airlines, Hawaiian was "one of the few U.S. airlines to have made the best of an extremely bad year," according to Pacific Business News. Hawaiian Airlines announced the acquisition of an additional 298-seat A330-200 on lease from CIT, bringing to 27 its total Airbus orders for the year. It LED Downlight K1033 - 12x1W reached an agreement to lease two others from AWAS last month and has six of the type on order from Airbus. Hawaiian will take delivery of two of the leased A330s in the 2010 second quarter, beginning its transition to a new long-range fleet two years earlier than originally planned. Nov 14, 2008
