A CHUBBY, bespectacled BMW driver was last night being hunted by police probing the Ipswich Ripper murders of five prostitutes.
Victim Anneli Alderton, 24, got into his dark blue car last Thursday. It was the last time she was seen alive. Vice girl Lou, who saw her driven away, said: "This guy might have murdered her. He may have Replica Miumiu killed the other girls as well."
It also emerged that although the killer stripped all five women of their clothes he did not remove jewellery. Last night, police were preparing to check a handbag found in central Ipswich and women's clothes discovered in the nearby River Orwell.
The BMW suspect appeared on Thursday night as Anneli, Lou and two other prostitutes were touting for business in Handford Road close to Ipswich Town's Portman Road ground.
Lou, 28, said: "All of a sudden this blue BMW slowed down and went into a public car park.
"Going into the car park is a signal the driver wants a girl. Anneli went over.
"She got into the car and was sitting in the passenger seat talking to the driver as he drove off in an out of town direction.
"As the guy went past, he looked towards us. He had a chubby build, glasses and short dark hair. He didn't look creepy or out of the ordinary.
"Nobody thought anything of it at the time. But Anneli never came back. It was the last time any of us girls saw her alive."
Anneli's naked body was found on Sunday afternoon in woodland at Nacton about five miles from Ipswich.
Nacton is only a mile from Levington where on Tuesday the bodies of mum of three Paula Clennell, 24, and Annette Nicholls, 29, are feared to have been found.
Yesterday a friend of Paula's said the vice girl almost certainly knew her killer as she would not enter a car if she did not recognise the client.
The friend said: "I'm convinced she knew the man who murdered her. Paula never got into a stranger's car. That wasn't her style."
Paula's friend told the Mirror he had not seen her since she cycled to Nacton to meet a mystery drug dealer in a pub on Friday night.
He said: "She was desperate for drugs so I lent her pounds 30. She phoned the dealer on my mobile and arranged to collect in Nacton.
LED Street Light SP90-28W"I was worried about her cycling that far but she said she'd be OK. That was the last I saw of her. On Sunday I saw on TV that a girl's body had been found in Nacton.
"I assumed it was Paula. But it was another girl." Police yesterday combed the Golden Hind pub in Nacton and examined CCTV footage. Earlier they visited the friend's house to take a statement.
He said they took his phone, some clothes of Paula's and her hairbrush. Paula may have been seen later at 1am on Sunday. But the sighting is unconfirmed.
The friend also saw another of the murdered prostitutes, Tania Nicol, 19, a day after she was reported missing on October 30. He told police he saw her climbing into a dark Astra estate diesel in Ipswich.
He said: "Tania asked if I wanted any business. I told her I wasn't interested. As I walked off, a car pulled up. The next thing I know, she got in and the car left."
Tania's naked body was discovered in a stream near Cop
