Malaysia eyes bigger linkages to new regional markets
KUALA LUMPUR, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- The Malaysian government wants to see an expansion of its trade and finance linkages to new markets Hair extensions in ASEAN countries, China and India, a Malaysian official said here on Saturday.
This would make sure that the country's economy was less vulnerable to consumer demands of its traditional export markets, Malaysian Second Finance Minister Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah said at the Malaysian Annual Real Estate Agent Convention (MAREC) 2010.
The United States, Japan and the European countries are the main markets of Malaysia's exports but the sluggish demand from these countries since the global financial hair extensions wholesale crisis has brought negative impacts to Malaysia's economy.
Saying that the Malaysian government was working hard to lay a stronger footing for the country's economy, Ahmad Husni expressed the Malaysian government's aim to have the private sector assuming greater role in the nation's economic development.
He also said that a number of measures would be unveiled soon in the Tenth Malaysia Plan, a five-year plan implemented by the Malaysian government for the well-being of the people and the country.
