ALICE is coming home. The eight-month-old who had a liver transplant in October is well enough to return to Temuka with parents Kate Manson and Mike Johnston and big sister Hazel.

The family will fly home from Auckland today and Miss Manson said the family couldn't be happier. "Initially the doctors had told us that we could bring Alice home for a week, but yesterday afternoon they changed their minds and said we could come home for good, providing her new liver stays happy with the current bile drainage tube that's in her."

Miss Manson said Alice needed the bile drainage tube as it kept access to the stricture, a narrowing of the biliary tube, and ensured the stricture stayed repaired. "Alice will have the tube and bile drainage bag attached to her for up to six months, but that's a small price to pay after what she's been through. We are just so stoked that Alice has made it. She's been a real wee trooper throughout this whole experience. She's captured many hearts, from the doctors to nurses to the Ronald McDonald staff. Many are sad to her go but they are Thomas sabo charms happy that we're all going to be home together as a family."

It has been six months since Alice was in Temuka and that was only for a week.

"This whole journey started when she was three weeks old. We feel so fortunate that she's survived and is facing a long future ahead of her. We will have more 'hurdles' to cross, but nothing like the past seven months. It's been a tough journey as a family but it's made us a tighter unit."

The family wished to thank Alice's grandparents, Maurice and Glen Manson, who looked after Hazel. "My dad and mum have missed a lot of work this year, bringing Hazel up to Auckland many times and we are so grateful replica hublot watches that they did that. All of our family members have been so supportive and wonderful - we couldn't have done this without them," Miss Manson said.
